Welcome to Pack 166!
We are
very happy to have you as a member of our Pack. If you have never
experienced Cub Scouting before I'm sure there are millions of
questions that need to be answered. I don't pretend that this will
cover everything but it will get you on a good start.
MEETINGS
There are two
types of meetings you and your son will be attending. The first is
the Den meeting. Depending on the grade level your son is in he will
be assigned to a Den of boys his own age. First grade is , Second
grade is , Third grade is and Fourth and Fifth grades are . Each Den
will meet three times a month for about an hour working on
achievements to earn badges, arrow points etc. Once a month the
entire Pack which includes all the various Dens meet for a Pack
meeting. At the Pack meeting we recognize all the boys who have
earned their badges, etc. We also have skits, songs and have more
fun than a barrel full of Cub Scouts, I mean monkeys.
Uniforms
For information on our Pack uniform policy
please visit our Uniform
page! We don't expect you to go out and buy your uniform
today, tomorrow will be fine. You can get your uniform items from
several sources. Go to our Driving Directions page
for guidance. We want to have all our
boys in uniform by the November Pack meeting when we do our Uniform
inspection.
Books
The handbook your son needs will be made
available to you through either your Den Leader or our Advancement
Chairperson, Cindy Mills / pileofscrap@msn.com. There is a small fee for the cost of the
book.
Leaders
We are blessed at Pack 166 with a group of
leaders second to none. Our Den leaders are very well trained and
put a lot of time in planning and running their dens. Now that we
are on the subject wouldn't it be way cool to wear the official Boy
Scout Leaders uniform! Be the envoy of the entire neighborhood.
Nothing will make your son prouder than to see his Mom or Dad in
that uniform. It really isn't hard to get one, just a little
paperwork and we will have you stylin' in no time. For information
on all our leaders visit our Pack Leaders
page.
